The McMaster Community Mourns the Attacks in Sri Lanka

Apr 22, 2019

The McMaster community mourns the devastating loss of life in the horrific terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, affecting communities globally and locally. Our thoughts are with the families of those who were killed and injured; and with all Sri Lankan peoples and with those in the diaspora that are part of our vibrant McMaster and Hamilton communities.

Martin Luther King’s words may offer some hope in the face of our profound shock and grief.

“When our days become dreary with low-hovering clouds of despair, and when our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, let us remember that there is a creative force in this universe, working to pull down the gigantic mountains of evil, a power that is able to make a way out of no way and transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows.”
