Join us as the City of Hamilton Kicks off Black History Month with exciting portrait and banner features of Black excellence across the main street of Hamilton. From 12-3pm at City Hall, you will be able to have face time with influential city members, engage with diverse tables of city partners, and hear more about the City’s commitments to our diverse community!

The 27th Annual Reverend John C. Holland Awards, themed The Return, will be held in person on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Liuna Station. This is an awards that have celebrated excellence in Hamiltons Black community; recognizing academic achievements and aspirations of Black youth through scholarships and supports to access post-secondary education. This annual awards also celebrates the rich cultural heritage of our community and recognizes the contributions of local Black leaders in Hamilton.

Diversity Through the Eyes of Stories with Chidiebere Ibe | You are invited to join the Faculty of Health Sciences on February 27th 4:00 – 5:00 pm EDT in welcoming Chidiebere Ibe, Nigerian Medical Illustrator, medical student and aspiring Pediatric Neurosurgeon, known for his famous illustration of a Black pregnant woman with a Black fetus. He is a TEDx speaker who has gained global recognition for his work and continues to actively work to expand the frontiers of diversity and inclusion in the health care system.
